Insights of the sannyasin (1) | |
Sannyasin, in the East, is a man searching for spirit and developing his consciousness; buddha - conscious soul, sannyasin, who has finished evolution
of his consciousness and is merging into cosmic consciousness. I became Osho sannyasin about ten years ago when I was 42, after 10 years of
spiritual quest. I had studied at Kaunas Polytechnic Institute until I was 21, then another 21 years I worked for family, society and myself.
Firstly, a sannyasin is neither a monk who withdrew from life, nor a secular man attached to it. He accepts both sides and remains untouched.
He meditates and lives. Secondly, a sannyasin takes responsibility for his life and decides in his actions not by mind, but by heart, or even better
by consciousness. Thirdly, a sannyasin can use spiritual light and energy of the Master. Certain maturity of a sannyasin is described by the moment
when meditation is happening. Then he perceives consciousness separately from the body, feelings and mind. This is already like a seed, which has
known that it is an individual, and is separate from the tree as well as the Earth. Now it has to grow, share with people and existence its inner
riches, beauty and goodness. The seed returns to the Earth, matter, while the soul - to the inner skies, consciousness.
Health.
The body for a sannyasin is the dwelling of his soul, that needs to be taken care of, and if worn out it needs to be changed.
Health does not come from the body. So many people look for health in medicine and sport, but they do not find it. This is natural
as they do not understand the essence of life. Health comes from the meeting of spirit and the body. The opposite pole refreshes life,
which is a complementary part and energy. Thus, while being in the body, one needs to find and to take care of spiritual energy and
while being in the spirit, it is necessary to approach the body, physical energy. Osho calls such a man Zorba the Buddha. He enjoys
secular and spiritual life. This is a neosannyas. According to Osho, only such sannyas has the future. The inner life of sannyasin as
well as the outer can be rich. What is important is not poverty but unattachement to riches.
A tree does not grow in the shade. It does not matter how deep it is rooted, it needs open skies, the Sun. The energy has to flow from above too. There has to be
a balance between earthly and heavenly energies. It has to be understood. The same is in a man. A man vitally needs spiritual energy, the way within. A man does
not need beliefs and gods, but the spiritual energy is unconditionally necessary. Meditation best suits this purpose. This explains the health of meditators.
I keep wondering about my own health. I have reached middle age and my health is entirely better than when I was young. Now I find health, love and blissfulness
in myself. It is not enough not to be sick. There has to be the kingdom of god, blissfulness inside me. And it keeps on growing. I had had pains in joints, suffered
from angina at least twice a year, things like running nose, sneeze, and pains in waist before I started meditation. It's 10 years since I have been practicing Osho
dynamic meditation almost daily. According to the experience of many meditators it is the most suitable meditation for a resident of Western city. During the first
seven years of this meditation, while practicing chaotic breathing, I used at least three handkerchiefs. Now I do not need them. Doctors say that, during seven years
all body cells change. I agree. Now the body is full of energy and it seems there are no limits for that. Besides that, my mind has calmed down. It is silent. How
wonderful when mind is silent and one is in consciousness. No drugs can do that. The body is quiet and relaxed and thoughts do not cover the inner skies.
The spiritual energy flows from inside. Namely this very energy fills body and heart. At the same time, energy from the physical body flows into spirit.
The circle of life turns round. All meditators become healthy and blissful. Besides, the mind, which has calmed down, becomes more fresh and creative.
Mind and heart.
Mind itself is neither an evil, nor goodness. It is important whether soul uses it through the heart or not. If through the
heart then it will not be an obstacle. Then goodness can be created even using mind. It is even better if soul uses mind consciously.
Then the soul itself turns into consciousness, individual consciousness, later it turns into Cosmic consciousness and an individual with such
consciousness becomes a buddha. The heart is the center where matter and spirit meets. This is the main center where energies are
transformed into love. Here neither matter is more important than spirit, nor spirit is more important than matter. Here meets life
and death. Here are freedom and equality. Here are existential freedom and existential equality. Death equalizes everybody. Love passes
through death as well. A man who tends to orient himself towards mind is an intellectual person, whereas the one who follows the heart
is an intelligent person. A scientist, using mind and sharing outer discoveries, increases people cleverness and richness. A sannyasin, while
exploring and understanding the inner world as well as consciousness, sharing inner discoveries, increases people love and consciousness.
Love.
Let's have a deeper insight. Love is absolutely needed everywhere. Without love, life starts fading and dies. The secret of life is love.
Even the love of God can not exhaust its essence. We are not talking about love to someone in particular, but about love in general, from its essence.
If there is love, it can be directed to someone. If you love a child, then you can continue learning to love other people. If your father or mother loved
you, then you already have at least minimal primary experience. Primary experience of love is necessary. Remember that love does not belong to some
theory or belief. It is experienced.
First of all love is energy. A man, who is conscious enough, feels, sees, directly experiences that. An aura surrounds a man who is full of love, which through invisible strings
attracts and refreshes others. Love cures, calms, inspires, blesses. A man, who is full of love does not look for meaning of life, as love itself makes existence meaningful.
Love is born when vital energy flows from the body, from the lower energetic center to the heart. This energy flows through the centers, called charkas in the East that
are located in the vital body. But for the vital energy to turn into love, it is necessary that there were no emotional and astral obstacles on the way to the heart, and that
consciousness would touch or light up that energy. Emotional obstacles consist of fears, anger and other negative emotions. Astral obstacles may consist of karma,
collective ideas and especially political ideas, beliefs, sectarianism.
Secondly, love is transformed and high energy. It acquires this quality while flowing through transforming centers. Have a look at an apple-tree.
Feel it and you will start experiencing how matter turns into life, into an apple. The transformation of materials and energies goes on in the apple-tree.
The similar processes take place in human. But a man is the only being, who can transform vital energy into love. Probably for that reason, gods order
to love them. But love does not need gods. On the contrary, gods need love. However, love needs consciousness, high consciousness. Thought
quenches love. Similarly as a cloud covers the Sun. But thought can be filled with love and other lower energies. The more love there is in a thought,
the more alive it is, the more spiritual. The best way is when the energy is transferred directly, without thought, through pure consciousness. Then, it
can raise even a dead, but it may provoke a shock. Love can burn as well. One should learn how to share it not. mechanically like we share things, but
consciously. Love comes like a fruit, like a fruit of quest and consciousness. For love to be born, in the beginning, something should be done.
Love has its opposite. That is hate. So far, we have only known unconscious love. There is little use out of such love. Unconscious love
does more harm than benefit. A lot of parents complain saying that they loved their children, but they followed byways. This happens because
of unconscious love. It is necessary to know conscious love, but for that one needs to know the very consciousness.
